Current Projects

December 20, 2004

FL 250, Ontario New York

Rated Power: 250 kW
Rotor Diameter: 29.5 meters
Tower: Tapered tubular, 40 meters
Tower Manufacturer: Tri Service Metal Products
Interconnection: Grid Connected, behind the Meter
Developer: Lorax Energy Systems, LLC

This 250 kW wind turbine was installed in December 2002 at Harbec Plastics, Inc an innovative high precision plastic molding company in Ontario NY. This elegant machine provides supplemental energy to Harbec’s on site combined heat and power plant which is powered by twenty five 30 kW micro gas turbines. In addition to providing energy, the wind turbine is an engineering test bed for wind diesel control system and Wind-Hydrogen hybrid system research.

FL 100, Dorchester Massachusetts

Rated Power: 100 kW
Rotor Diameter: 21 meters
Tower: Tapered tubular, 35 meters
Tower Manufacturer: Morrison Berkshire, Inc
Interconnection: Grid Connected, behind the Meter
Developer: Solar Design Associates, Harvard MA.

This 100 kW wind turbine will be installed at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, (IBEW) Local 103 Training Center on Route I-93, just 3 miles (5km) south of the center of Boston. Funded in part by a grant from the Renewable Energy Trust, a Division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, this wind turbine will provide electrical energy savings and an advanced wind power training facility to the largest and most experienced electrical local in the state. Scheduled installation: April 2005.

FL 25, Cody Wyoming

Rated Power: 25 kW
Rotor Diameter: 13 meters
Tower: Lattice, 26 meters
Tower Manufacturer: Radian / Rohn Towers, Inc
Interconnection: Grid Connected, behind the Meter
Developer: South Fork Electric, Cody Wy.

This 25 kW wind turbine will provide a significant portion of the ranch’s electrical energy supply as allowed under the state’s 25 kW net metering provision. This installation uses an innovative high voltage transmission line which allows the wind turbine to be placed over 800 feet (250 m) from the facility with minimum energy transmission losses. Scheduled installation, April 2005.

FL 100, Goldendale, Washington

Rated Power: 100 kW (X 3 wind turbines)
Rotor Diameter: 21 meters
Tower: Tapered Tubular 35 meters
Tower Manufacturer: T Bai
ley, Inc.
Interconnection: Grid Connected, behind the Meter
Developer: NW SEED, Last Mile Electric Cooperative

This project which is funded in part with a grant from the US Department of Agriculture, will provide low cost, renewable energy for low income households in Klickikat County, WA.
